Two siblings explore nature with a cousin, get caught out in a shower, and wonder where animals go when it rains in this picture book story with beautifully detailed illustrations。 Originally published in France。

WHERE DO THEY GO WHEN IT RAINS? is a story about a rainy day in the country。 A set of twins go adventuring with their cousin and a rainstorm inspires a question about where the animals go when it rains。 The text is a bit lengthy so better for sharing on a lap or with a slightly older child, but it is a playful story about simple explorations and not being afraid to get messy and ask questions。

We love Gerda Muller's beautiful illustrations and careful and accurate observations of nature。 We liked the the idea of this story about two siblings exploring nature with a cousin, getting caught out in a shower and wondering where animals go when it rains。 Apart from this not quite working for us, I disliked the way it was unclear about children's fish in a tank。 At first I thought they had been brought bad been brought back from the stream but I think they didn't have any weed or a pump, so We love Gerda Muller's beautiful illustrations and careful and accurate observations of nature。 We liked the the idea of this story about two siblings exploring nature with a cousin, getting caught out in a shower and wondering where animals go when it rains。 Apart from this not quite working for us, I disliked the way it was unclear about children's fish in a tank。 At first I thought they had been brought bad been brought back from the stream but I think they didn't have any weed or a pump, so it was weed the children are aiming to collect not wildlife, although they certainly look like fish you would find in a stream and not a pet shop。 There were some very nice images of animals sheltering from the rain。 。。。more
